How to have faith and keep your dream alive, building a castle

How to have faith and keep your dream alive

Recently a guy wrote to me and said: Hi, Hope all is well. Your project is something I would love to do but don't currently have the resources. Rob This is the response I sent back:

Hi Rob,

So you say you don’t have the resources. Well, guess what, neither do I! All I have is my dream and that keeps me going. I don’t know how to build a castle and I don’t know how to pay for a castle. But what I do have is faith in myself. I know with 100% certainty, with every fiber of my being that I am going to build this castle, live in it and raise my daughters there. When you are this committed to your life’s goal, an interesting thing happens. Your brain’s full potential and creativity is open to every possibility to make it happen.  And then you do make it happen!  I am zigzagging through the highs and lows of this project never taking my eyes off the final goal.  In my mind I have already succeeded, it will happen, it has happened.  I see the future so vividly that it’s already my reality.

I attribute this way of thinking to Tony Robbins who I started listening to back in the late 1990’s. He taught me to set my goals and gave me practical tools to achieve them. If you are unfamiliar with him check out this video of him talking at TED:  If you like what you see you might pick up one of his CD series. I highly recommend The Ultimate Edge which you can find on Amazon.

This stuff really changed my life when I started listening to it. In 1998, I set 3 goals: 1) Move back to NH where I grew up and buy a great property 2) Find the woman of my dreams, settle down and start a family and 3) build a castle.

So what’s happened so far?

1)     I now live where I want to live in the White mountains of New Hampshire and bought the top of a mountain inside the national forest.

2)     In 2008 I married the woman of my dreams and we now have 2 beautiful daughters.

 3)     I’m working every day to build my dream castle and loving everychallenging minute of it!

So my advice to you is set your goals, have faith, develop a burning desire to succeed and you *WILL* find the way.

Dream no small dreams for these have no power to move the hearts of men.

Now go build your castle!
